An expert UK diving team arrived in Co Galway today to assist in the recovery of the body of Polish diver Artur Kozlowski.
The body is expected to be brought to the surface tomorrow.
Supt Pat Murray of Gort Garda Station said it was an extremely hazardous operation and strict health and safety guidelines would be observed.
The body of Mr Kozlowski, who was in his 30s, was located more than 50m below water in Pollonora Cave in Kiltartan, near Gort.
