Relatives of the two murdered Co Down women have arrived in Turkey and are making preparations for the repatriation of their bodies.

Kathy Dinsmore and Marion Graham were found in a forest near the city of Izmir on Thursday night.

They had both died from stab wounds.

Prayers are being said at masses today for the women and their families.

Raymond McGuinness, the former partner of Ms Graham, said he hoped to have the bodies of the women in Northern Ireland by midweek.

Mr McGuinness said he had met his and Ms Graham’s daughter Shannon and said the family just wanted to get home as soon as possible.

He said they wanted to be left to grieve in peace and concluded by saying it was a very difficult time.

A 17-year-old waiter accused of the double killing is currently being detained in prison in Izmir, following a preliminary court hearing last night.

It is reported that the teenager had been refused permission by Ms Graham to marry her daughter.
