Woman rescued from Carrauntoohil

A woman climber who was injured on Carrantoohil mountain in Co Kerry has been rescued.

Members of the Kerry Mountain Rescue Team have rescued an injured woman from Carrauntoohil near Killarney.

The woman injured her knee while climbing with a group on Ireland's highest mountain. The alarm was raised at around 2.30pm.

She was stretchered to a coastguard helicopter and airlifted to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee.

The woman's injuries are not life threatening.
