A woman who got into difficulties while swimming off Co Clare earlier today has died.
The woman, who was in her 30s, was swept out to sea as she was swimming off Liscannor beach.
A crew from the Irish naval patrol vessel LE Aisling recovered the woman and took her to Liscannor Pier from where she was airlifted to hospital in Galway by the Shannon-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter.
