An 18-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash outside Gort in Co Galway.
The crash happened at approximately 11.40pm last night on the old Ennis to Gort road.
The man who died was the driver of the car. He died shortly after being taken to University Hospital Galway with serious injuries.
A male passenger, also 18, was injured and taken to University Hospital Galway where his condition is described as stable.
The scene of the collision remains closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.
