An Irishman is said to be in a critical condition following an assault in Australia yesterday.
Tim McCarthy, aged 41, from Spa, Killarney, Co Kerry, is understood outside a nightclub in Canberra in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to his family.
