Anglo Irish Bank - Court order against Quinn family

Anglo Irish Bank has secured a court order temporarily stopping members of the Quinn family and related companies from transferring assets out of the Quinn Group and out of the country.

The order was granted in the High Court on an ex-parte basis meaning the Quinn family was not represented.

Judge Frank Clarke adjourned the case to a full hearing on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the Quinn family said they have not been notified of any injunction.

Anglo Irish bank now controls the Quinn companies on foot of outstanding loans to the family.

But the family has taken a legal action against the bank alleging the loans are unenforceable.
