Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for information about a crash in the city centre on Tuesday night after which a cyclist died.

The collision, involving the cyclist and a taxi, happened at the junction of Westmoreland Street and O' Connell Bridge shortly before midnight.

A 21-year-old man was taken to St James's Hospital where he died from his injuries yesterday morning.

The man who died was one of three men riding bicycles along Westmoreland Street before the crash.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have seen these cyclists immediately beforehand to contact them at Pearse Street, the Garda confidential line or any Garda station.
