A representative of Denis O'Brien has lost his Independent News and Media board seat following a vote at the Annual General Meeting.
57% of shareholders voted against Leslie Buckley returning to the board.
Mr Buckley accepted the vote and said he was ‘appalled’.
The development follows a row over corporate governance at INM.
Earlier, a representative of Dermot Desmond attacked the board for 'destruction of shareholder value'.
The representative, John Bateson, said there had been 'a shocking performance'.
