A 16 year old girl has died after being struck by a car in Co Kildare.
The collision happened on the Celbridge to Leixlip road at an area known as the Celbridge interchange close to an Apple Green Service Station at 4.45pm.
The girl was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was not injured.
Gardai are asking anyone who was in the area to contact them at Celbridge Garda Station on 01 6012370.
