People Before Profit TD Richard Boyd Barrett was asked to leave the Dáil this afternoon by the Ceann Comhairle.
He had criticised the Ceann Comhairle's handling of discussions during Questions to the Taoiseach, claiming that it was an 'abuse'.
When he refused to withdraw his comment, he was asked to leave the House and did so.
Under the rules of the Dáil, he will have to remain outside the chamber for the rest of the day.
Mr Boyd Barrett is the first TD to leave the Dáil during this term.
