Dublin city councillors are to be given copies of the coroner's report into the death of Rachel Peavoy - who died of hypothermia in her Ballymun flat.

City Manager John Tierney said the council had received full documentation last Friday.

A motion calling for a public inquiry in the case has been adjourned pending the release of documents.

The inquest found that Ms Peavoy had died of hypothermia - but that the heating had not been cut off to her flat as claimed by neighbours.

Coroner Dr Brian Farrell said there had been other risk factors - including medication that Ms Peavoy was taking - that could have made her drowsy and less sensitive to the cold.

City manager John Tierney said allegations had been made against the city council that were not substantiated.

The meeting held a one minute’s silence in memory of the mother-of-two who died in January last year.
