The man had fallen on the cliffs in an area called the Nose.
The Howth Coast Guard cliff rescue team were paged and were quickly on scene.
The man had suffered head, leg and spinal injuries.
The team administered medical care to the casualty who was semi
conscious and in a confused state.
The man was winched aboard the helicopter and transferred to Tallaght Hospital by the Coast Guard Helicopter.
