Preparations are under way for a ceremony in Dublin on Sunday to mark the 95th anniversary of the Easter Rising.
President Mary McAleese and Taoiseach Enda Kenny are to attend the event.
Traffic restrictions will be in place near O'Connell Street on Sunday morning.
The ceremony marking the 1916 Rising takes place outside the GPO at noon.
The ceremony will also be attended by Minister for Justice, Equality & Defence Alan Shatter, and other members of the Cabinet, the Opposition and senior judges.
Lord Mayor of Dublin Gerry Breen will also be present, as will relatives of those who fought in 1916.
300 members of the Defence Forces - from the Army, Air Corps, Naval Service and the Reserve - will take part. The Chief of Staff, Lt Gen Sean McCann and senior officers will also participate.
At noon on Sunday, the national flag will be lowered on the GPO. The 1916 Proclamation will be read by Lt Paul O'Brien of the Naval Service.
President McAleese will lay a wreath in memory of those who died in 1916 and a minute’s silence will be observed.
During the Rising, the GPO was the headquarters of Padraig Pearse, Commander of The Volunteers.
Members of the public are invited to attend and are asked to be in position by 11.30am.
The 30-minute ceremony will end with a flypast by the Air Corps.
Commemoration of the 1916 Rising was resumed in 2006 on the 90th anniversary and has been held every year since.
It was not held for about three decades because of the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
