An investigation has been launched following the death of a man in a single-vehicle collision on the M7 yesterday afternoon.
The man died after his car collided with the central barrier on the Dublin to Limerick motorway at Clonkeen, Portlaoise, Co Laois, at 12.45pm.
The victim was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise where he subsequently died.
A post mortem will take place on his body later today.
