A dispute involving part-time firefighters in Co Leitrim has been resolved following the intervention of the Labour Relations Commssion.
A settlement was announced last night after discussions between Leitrim County Council and SIPTU under the auspices of a senior official from the commission.
Mandatory breathing apparatus training will be completed by all fire-fighters and 12 part-time retained fire-fighters have been restored to operational duties with immediate effect.
