A 30-year-old man has been shot and seriously injured in Dublin tonight.
The shooting happened in Rusheeny Village in Clonsilla at around 9.15pm.
The victim was a national champion body builder who established a gym in Dublin and also worked as a music festival promoter.
He was shot several times as he sat in a car.
Gardaí are treating the shooting as a gangland attack.
It is believed nine shots were fired at him by a gunman with a handgun and that- he was hit five times - once in the arm, once in the leg and three times in the chest.
He was taken by ambulance to James Connolly hospital in Blanchardstown.
The scene has been sealed off, a car found burned out near is to be forensically examined.
Detectives are now trying to establish a motive for the shooting.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
