Residents on the outskirts of Galway city say they have been without water since before Christmas.
Up to 50 homes in the Killoughter area are affected.
Galway City Council said it is working to address the problem, but added that these houses are on elevated sites and reservoir levels remain very low.
Elsewhere, Clare County Council says the water supply situation in the county has now stabilised and is back to normal in almost all areas.
However, water will be restricted at Corofin and Ruan from 8pm tonight until 8am tomorrow.
Water tankers were made available to help householders at both Lahinch and at Ennistymon in north Clare this afternoon.
Boil notices remain in place for householders in the Newcastle West, Kilmallock and Abbeyfeale areas of Co Limerick.
Limerick County Council says it has no plans to shut off supply tonight or over the weekend.
Leitrim County Council says that its water supply situation has improved significantly, but that the county is continuing to experience some problems with supplies, particularly in north Leitrim.
The Fivemilebourne, Leckaun and Killooman areas will be subject to night-time disruption.
There will be no night-time disruption to water supply over the weekend in south Leitrim.
Consumers are requested to refrain from leaving taps running, and group water scheme trustees are asked to check their schemes for problems such as leaks or wastage.
Westmeath County Council has warned that may be necessary to implement emergency supply restrictions without warning in order to ensure that reservoir levels are maintained and to facilitate repairs.
The Council said that as supply returns to properties, owners should continuously check for leaks.
There will be restrictions to water supplies tonight, tomorrow night and Sunday night.
