Mitchelstown
Mitchelstown Galtee:- We will be shutting down the Galtee supply from midnigh tonight Thursday (30th December) until 6.00am. We do not expect to have to restrict this supply New Years Eve. 2 major leaks detected and repaired yesterday and further repair locations have been identified and repairs will be continuing today. We expect minor disruptions only to this supply in the next 24 hours. Ballyarthur reservoir is now full and supply restored. All areas have water but there may be individual supply problems.
Mitchelstown South:- Improvements to the water pressure have been carried out yesterday resulting in improved pressures to the centre of town. No additional problems to report. Demand was exceeding supply as of yesterday as this scheme was supporting the Galtee Scheme to the tune of 30 cub. m / hr but the Galtee scheme can now support itself. No mains burst on the scheme. All areas have water but there may be individual supply problems, not yet reported.
Glanworth:- We are no longer shutting down Dunmahon at night and the main burst over the bridge at Glanworth Village was repaired yesterday. Only a handful of private dwellings are without water in the schemes and council houses without water are receiving priority repairs from outside contractors under instruction from Cork County Council. (only 2 reported thus far)
Kildorrery:- No reports of any disruptions to the supply.
Kilworth:- Supply now back to Macroney - disruption was from frozen pipes only, and consumption is only slightly over normal usage. Village supply uninterrupted.
Repairs to mains at Garrane completed yesterday. In all 6 leaks identified and will be repaired this afternoon and tomorrow morning. All areas have water but there may be individual supply problems, that may take a number of days to resolve.
Millstreet
The water situation in Millstreet town has stabilised at present and the reservoir levels have increased. It is hoped that we will not have to turn any areas if we can maintain the present reservoir levels.
There may have to be interruptions in Caherbarnagh again to night to allow the reservoir recover further.
The Banteer/ Rathcoole supply is supplying water to the vast majority of customers. There may be some customers on high areas experiencing difficulties as the pressure in the mains has not built up to the normal working pressure yet.

Water Restriction
Due to an unprecedented demand on water supply in the Dublin Region, reservoirs across the region are at critical levels. Because of this increase in demand, water supply will be restricted across the coming days in order to secure the reservoirs.
During the restricted periods there should be adequate supplies in your household water tank for very moderate household use. Please do not run appliances such as washing machines and diswashers during the restricted periods. We urge everyone across the county to conserve water during this period - go to www.taptips.ie for ideas on how to conserve water.

Gallowsfield
Cahermoneen
St Brendans Park
St Johns Park

Kildare County Council
Kildare County Council will lift water restrictions across the county for New Year's Eve.
However, the council is still asking people to conserve water as far as possible, so that recent gains in the area are not lost.
Reservoir levels in the county have risen slightly over the last 24 hours, but water demand is still 7m litres a day above production capacity.
The council has been reducing water pressure at night in order to boost the conservation effort.
Tonight's reductions will begin at 6pm and will last until 12 noon tomorrow so that reservoir levels can be increased. Water may not fully return to some outlying areas until early afternoon tomorrow.
Reductions will recommence at 6pm on New Year's Day and will last until 10am the following morning. They will take place on a daily basis from then on until reservoirs are fully charged and demand returns to normal.
Laois County Council
Following the thaw after recent severe weather, Laois County Council is experiencing major disruption to water supplies - especially in Portlaoise, Portarlington and Mountmellick. Other areas are affected to a lesser extent.
Disruption is expected to continue for a number of days. In the interim the Council have made water tankers available at the following locations in Portlaoise, Mountmellick, Portarlington and Graiguecullen:

Meath County Council
Water Update Thursday 30 December 5.30pm
General
The level of demand continues to cause major problems for all schemes. Householders, business key holders and farmers are urgently requested to check unoccupied premises for leaks and have them repaired or turn off the supply.
At this stage we are supplying as much treated water as we can produce but the demand is more than double normal levels in some cases and this is now the main source of difficulty for continued supplies.
The policy of reducing pressure overnight in some areas (Navan and East Meath) has resulted in some recovery of reservoirs in those areas and this will result in some improvement to areas served by those schemes.
There is still a lingering issue of frozen underground service pipes and although many of these should have thawed by now some problems persist. Householders should check if their neighbours have a supply, if so the problem is likely to be a still frozen service pipe or stopcock.
Navan Town & Area
Overnight restrictions on supply from the Proudstown reservoir have resulted in some improvement in supply. Navan Town and area is generally being maintained but with some areas experiencing low pressure. Outlying areas served by the town supply are currently without water or have intermittent or restricted supply. These include: Dunderry, Boyerstown, Commons Road, Robinstown, Oristown, Rosmeen, Fyanstown and Curraghtown. Some of these areas are unlikely to show any improvement in the short term and may be without water for some days.
Water tankers are in place in Robinstown and Dunderry, Rosmeen, Fyanstown, Oristown, Boyerstown, Bohermeen, Ongenstown and Curraghtown and will be replenished as necessary.
Problems are persisting in Coill Foireann and Spire View estates and parts of Johnstown - tankers have been provided in Coill Foireann , Johnstown village and Spire View.
In order to allow further recovery of the reservoirs there will be further restrictions on supply from 9.00pm tonight to 8.00am tomorrow and all areas served by the Navan supply will have reduced pressure including Clongill Wilkinstown,Corballis,Wilkinstown,Kilberry,Graigs Lane and Dunmoe.
Dunshaughlin Area
Supply is generally being maintained across this area but there are some persistent local problems on high ground in Ashbourne, Dunboyne and Dunshaughlin. Supply to Ratoath is being maintained.
In Ashbourne, some parts of Race Hill, Rath Lodge and Brindley Park and other elevated estates may continue to experience water loss and/or reduced pressure. Water tanks will be provided at Race Hill this evening.
In Dunshaughlin, an additional water source is being brought on line today and this should improve supply to all areas of the village.
Most areas of Dunboyne have supply today. Tankers have been deployed to a number of estates and will be replenished as necessary. The recurring Dunboyne problems are being caused primarily because supply cannot consistently keep pace with current high demand and this is exacerbated by the ongoing problems in the general Dublin area.
Some parts of Kilcloon may still be experiencing water loss and some pressure problems. Water Tanks have been provided at Kilcloon and at the Hatchet Pub.
Slane / East Meath Area
Supply to the coastal area is being maintained and the general situation has improved following overnight restrictions.
Restrictions will again be in place tonight for all of the East Meath area and reduced pressure may be experienced as a result.
Stamullen - water is being tankered to the reservoir and supply is being maintained.
It will be necessary to reduce pressure to Stamullen / Ardcath / Davidstown area again tonight to allow pressure to build up in the reservoir.
Slane village - demand from this scheme remains high but supply to the village is being maintained.
Supply to Beauparc is being maintained but low pressure may be experienced.
Trim Area
Supply is being maintained to Trim Town and immediate areas.
Longwood - demand is in excess of normal levels and some areas may experience reduced pressure.
Supply to Kildalkey village has been maintained up to now other than some persistent local problems with frozen services. Tankers have been placed in the village centre.
There is an ongoing problem with supply to Ballivor village and water is being tankered to the reservoir to help maintain supply to the area. Supply to Enfield is being maintained.
Kells Area
Supply is being maintained to Kells Town and immediate area although demand has increased significantly on this scheme.
Athboy supply is experiencing very high demand but supply is being maintained.
Nobber & Kilmainhamwood & Drumconrath - demand is high in these areas but no major problems reported at the moment.
No major problems reported on Moynalty scheme this morning.
Oldcastle - is experiencing very high demand but supply is being maintained.
A tanker has been provided in the Ballinaclose Housing Scheme (near Kingscourt)

Westmeath County Council
30 December at 11.00am update
Water consumers need to be aware that even though there is a significant thaw underway, it is taking some time to thaw buried water service pipes into individual properties. As water supplies return to properties, owner should continuously check for leaks within these properties. Westmeath County Council appeals to all persons to reports ALL LEAKS to Westmeath County Council at 044 9332000.
The exceptionally cold weather followed quickly by the thaw over the last 2-3 days has resulted in a very significant increase in the number of leaks (large & small) on both public & private services. For example consumption of water (usage & leaks) has increased in the Mullingar scheme by over 30% in just a week.
In order to restore reservoir levels & to ensure that all parts of the county have a water supply tomorrow, Thursday, the Council will implement a series of planned service shut offs to ALL WATER SUPPLIES throughout Co. Westmeath tonight, Wednesday, & Thursday morning.

This will affect water supply to the most areas supplied by the L. Lene Regional Water Supply Scheme & includes Castlepollard, Delvin, Collinstown, Clonmellon.
Water Supply – Generally
As the thaw sets in, water mains may burst following the recent severe weather. The Council is working to deal with these leaks as quickly as possible. It may be necessary for the Council to implement emergency shut offs without warning in order to ensure that reservoir levels are maintained and to facilitate repairs.
As we are experiencing leaks in the water networks, we would seek the co-operation of the public to notify us immediately if they notice such leaks occurring. The Water Services staff are continuing to work to restore full supplies to all consumers and are closely monitoring the networks for leaks in the affected areas.
Water Supply Standpipe Update
Westmeath County Council is endeavouring to maintain an uninterrupted water supply to all its customers, however due to the unprecedented cold spell many householders are experiencing problems due to frozen water pipes. No shut offs of water mains have taken place & water is not frozen in public water mains.
Please contact a plumber before attempting to defrost frozen pipes.
If your water supply has frozen you should source water from your neighbours or go to a water standpipe using your own water containers.
Standpipes have been erected in the following locations by Westmeath County Council.
NB - Water from Standpipes/water tankers should be boiled before consumption
