Green Party finance spokesman Dan Boyle has confirmed that a bonus was paid to a senior figure in Bank of Ireland without the knowledge of the Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan.
Senator Boyle said he did not know how much was paid but reports suggest that a loyalty payment of up to €500,000 was made to an executive.
The Senator was speaking on RTÉ’s This Week programme.
