An improvised explosive device was made safe by the Army Bomb Disposal Team at a house in Grenane Drive, Tipperary, town early his morning.
Following a request from gardaí, the Army was deployed to the scene at 5.45am where the device was on a footpath in the housing estate.
It was made safe at the scene at 6.30am.
The remains of the device have been handed over to gardaí for further investigation.
