A woman's body has been discovered in south east Clare.
A search was mounted last night for a 50-year-old woman who had been last seen in the O'Briensbridge area at 3pm yesterday.
Gardaí and members of the Killaloe unit of the Irish Coast Guard searched a wide area around O'Briensbridge last night and resumed their search again this morning.
The Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter was also involved in the operation.
Shortly after 9am, the body of a woman was discovered in a wooded area.
The body has been removed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where a post mortem will be carried out.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
