Peter Robinson & Martin McGuinness - Co-signed declaration

Political leaders from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have issued a joint declaration calling on the Westminster government to reconsider its approach to the forthcoming Comprehensive Spending Review.

Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness, along with Finance Minister Sammy Wilson, co-signed the declaration.

The declaration states that the three administrations shared a common concern over the consequences to their budgets of cuts, which they described as ‘too fast and too deep’.

There is now less than a fortnight until the publication of the UK's Comprehensive Spending Review.
