A 56-year-old farmer has died after falling into a slurry tank on his land in Co Westmeath.
The accident happened around 1pm when the farmer was spreading slurry on land at Killare.
The man was taken out of the slurry tank and local workers and gardaí attempted to resuscitate him until medics arrived.
The farmer was taken to Mullingar Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Separate investigations are being carried out by gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority.
