A 49-year-old woman has been arrested by PSNI detectives investigating rioting that broke out in Ardoyne in north Belfast on 12 July

A handgun and ammunition were also recovered during the search of a house in Ardoyne last night.

The woman is being questioned in the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police base.

In a separate search operation in the New Lodge area of north Belfast, police recovered 11 replica and blank firing weapons, and other paramilitiary items.

Police say the search of the house was part of an investigation into the attempted murder of three PSNI officers at North Queen Street in Belfast on the night of 11 July. There were no arrests during this search.

In Derry, PSNI officers investigating dissident republican activity have arrested four men. The suspects aged 36, 38, 42 and 44 are also being questioned in Antrim police base.
