AXA Global Distributors, a subsidiary of AXA Insurance, has announced it is to create 200 new jobs in Dublin over the next three years.
The positions will be in marketing, IT, sales and policy administration.
The company has said 100 of the jobs will be created in the next 12 months and recruitment of these positions has already begun.
The new Dublin business will provide distribution services for AXA's investment products and provide back-office services for underwriting processes in the AXA Group, notably for AXA Life Europe.
'Our decision to locate AXA Global Distributors in Dublin was down to the track record and success of our other operations in Ireland, the availability of highly educated graduates with language skills and the access Ireland provides us to EU markets,' commented Matthieu André, Joint Managing Director of AXA Global Distributors.
'The decision by AXA to locate this strategically important investment in Ireland is a great achievement for Ireland's insurance industry,' the IDA Ireland's Chief Executive Barry O'Leary said.
'It highlights AXA's confidence in Ireland as a location of choice to do business,' he added.
AXA established a presence in Ireland in 1999.
It currently has a number of financial services operations here employing approximately 1,000 people throughout the country.
