A woman in her 50s is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a branch of a tree in Limerick.
The woman was walking along O'Connell Avenue at about 10.30am this morning when the accident happened.
The branch was knocked from the tree by a truck that drove past at the time.
It is understood a passing nurse gave assistance at the scene, before the woman was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital.
