A garda is being treated in hospital after rescuing a man from the River Liffey in Dublin today.
The man, who is in his 30s, went into the water just before 9am at Victoria Quay.
The garda, who is stationed at Kevin Street Garda Station, jumped in to save him after responding to the call.
Both men were taken to St James's Hospital in Dublin. The man is in a serious condition, while the garda is said to be stable.
