The average price of an Irish hotel room fell by 21% last year.
The hotels.com Hotel Price Index suggests that the cost per night fell from €101 to €80, the steepest decline in Western Europe.
That makes Irish hotels the fourth cheapest in Europe, behind Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic.
The most expensive rooms in Ireland are in Killarney, while the cheapest are in Waterford.
