George Lee is totally rejecting a report that a press release he issued in January about education publisher EMPG led to a heated argument with party leader Enda Kenny, which in turn motivated his subsequent decision to leave Fine Gael.
The former Fine Gael Dublin South TD says he never had any conversation with Mr Kenny about the matter and it did not in any way feed into his decision to quit the party and politics.
Mr Lee also says that contrary to the claims made in the Business and Finance article he is not aware of EMPG Chief Executive having contacted Mr Kenny personally to complain about the release.
