Two dead in Dublin, Cork fires

Two people have died in separate house fires in Dublin and Co Cork overnight.

Four units of the Dublin Fire Brigade were called to a fire at a house in Woodhazel Terrace in Ballymun at around 7.30am this morning.

A 44-year-old woman died in the fire.

She was the only person in the house at the time.

Earlier, a 23-year-old man died when a fire broke out in an apartment at Rushbrooke Manor in Cobh shortly after midnight.

The body of the man has been removed for a post-mortem examination.

Gardaí have described both deaths as 'tragic incidents'.
