The mobile network 3 is to open 28 new 3Stores, creating 90 new retail jobs nationwide this year.
The company plans to invest nearly €5m in the expansion.
3, which has 470,000 users, has 22 existing 3Stores and 200 independent retailers.
Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment Mary Coughlan said it is 'welcome news for consumers and for the locations benefitting from more choice on their shopping streets.'
She added that the Government remains fully committed to the rollout of the National Broadband Scheme.
