Sinn Féin Councillor Killian Forde has resigned from the party.
The Dublin Chairperson of Sinn Féin, Eoin Ó Broin, described the resignation as a disappointment, and called on him to also resign his seat to allow the co-option of a new Sinn Féin councillor for the Donaghmede ward.
Mr Forde is the third Sinn Féin elected member to Dublin City Council to resign from the party and to continue as councillor.
Sinn Féin's representation on the city council has now been cut from seven to four councillors within six months of the last local elections.
