Four wounded in Pakistan blast

Islamabad - Attack at naval headquarters
Islamabad - Attack at naval headquarters

At least four people have been wounded in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, after a suicide bomber blew himself up outside the naval headquarters.

Reports say the attacker walked up to a checkpoint at the entrance to the heavily-guarded complex in central Islamabad and detonated his explosives when challenged by security forces.

The attack comes a day after a Pakistani provincial lawmaker was killed in a suicide attack in northwest Swat valley.

Attacks by Taliban insurgents are increasing as the group responds to a multi-pronged military offensive against them.

Islamabad was last attacked in late October, when twin suicide blasts tore through the International Islamic University killing up to five people.
