Production of a popular British television series is to move to Ireland next year.
Primeval, which is broadcast on ITV, has a budget of more than €15m and is expected to create over 70 jobs in the film and television industry.
Work will start in January next year, with filming beginning in March.
The first three series were filmed in Surrey in England, but the decision to move the series to Ireland was based on the fact that Ireland provided 'a cost effective alternative'.
The show's producer, Tim Bradley, said another factor in the decision was the 'diverse crop of fabulous urban and rural locations such as castles, sea and coast' available in Ireland.
The series follows a research team recruited by the British government to investigate a series of dinosaur sightings.
