170 new jobs have been announced at two different companies in counties Clare and Donegal.
The Clare Spring Water company is to create 90 jobs over the next three years in Lissycasey.
A further 80 new jobs are being created over the next 12 months by software company SITA in Letterkenny in Co Donegal.
SITA specialises in air transport communications and IT solutions.
It has been based in Letterkenny since 2003, when it bought Eland Technologies.
Tánaiste Mary Coughlan opened the company's new premises at the Windy Hall Office Park this morning.
Minister Coughlan said the company is offering high value employment to the people of the northwest.
In Co Clare, the Taoiseach was due to open Clare Spring Water's new bottling facility.
The company is investing over €4m in the development of what it claims is the country's first biodegradable and compostable plastic bottle.
The company says the new project has the potential to create 90 jobs in manufacturing, recycling, engineering and sales over the next three years.
