A security alert close to a major British army base in the Ballykinler area of Co Down has been declared a hoax.
An object was found at the Commons Road, which was then closed to traffic. A police helicopter was also at the scene.
British army bomb experts had been called to deal with the alert.
The PSNI advised members of the public to stay away from the Commons Road area.
