A man has died and a search of a Co Cavan lake is under way for another man following a boating incident earlier today.
It is understood that the two young local men on the shoreline went into Gallon Lough to assist three people on a small boat who appeared to have gotten into difficulty.
One of the men, who was trying to assist the people on the boat, was taken from the lake and brought to Cavan Hospital, where he died.
A search involving a helicopter is continuing for the second young man who is still missing.
