Second stage of Finance Bill passed

The Dáil has passed the second stage of the Finance Bill, which gives effect to the provisions of the recent emergency Budget.

Dáil - 74 votes to 60

This stage of the bill was passed by 74 votes to 60.

The committee stage will be taken next week.

The Government also won a vote on a Labour Party private member's motion on the nationalisation of banks.

It was won by 73 votes to 59.
