Gardaí in Dublin have recovered a firearm and a small amount of ammunition during a planned search.
The 9mm pistol and ammunition were found on waste ground near St Teresa's Gardens in the south inner city.
The gun has been sent to ballistics section at the Garda Technical Bureau for forensic testing.
