The agency responsible for job creation, the IDA, has expressed opposition to a development in west Dublin which would create 1000 jobs.
In a submission, the IDA said the construction of the Snowtopia indoor ski resort in Tyrellstown was unsustainable and would be in conflict with the zoning policy in the area.
A spokesman for the agency added that the development would compromise future investment for existing clients or new clients in the vicinity of the site.
However, developers of the resort deny this and say there is ample land in the area for the IDA to develop.
The local Mayor said any job creation should be encouraged in the area.
The developers of Snowtopia resort have applied for permission to start building this year and hope to open in 2010.
They say the completed resort will create more than 1,000 new jobs, injecting €30m into the economy every year.
The plans for the indoor ski resort are currently being considered by Fingal County Council and a decision is expected before 24 February.
