A woman arrested on suspicion of murder after a three-month-old baby and a toddler were found dead at a house in Manchester, has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
Detectives said the bodies of baby Delayno Mullings-Sewell and his two-year-old brother Romario were found after officers were called to the house in the Cheetham Hill area in the north of the city shortly before 6pm yesterday.
A 21-year-old woman was initially arrested on suspicion of their murder but was later sectioned.
'This family had two beautiful, innocent children called Romario who was just two-years-old and his brother Delayno who had only been born in July this year,' the boys' relatives said in a statement released through the police.
'We, as a family, are struggling to come to terms with the tragic events of yesterday afternoon and we cannot even begin to understand what happened.
'Everybody is completely devastated. We hope that wherever the boys have gone to they are at peace.'
Police said they had been called to the house earlier in the day, shortly before 3pm, after receiving information from someone who was 'concerned for the welfare of a family'.
The matter has now been passed to the Independent Police Complaints Commission to investigate.
