Efforts to identify the human remains found during a dig in Co Wicklow were resumed today.
Eight years ago the area was the location of a search for Belfast man Danny McIlhone who had been abducted and killed by the IRA in 1981.
Search activity will continue today at the site in Co Wicklow, beyond Baltinglass.
It was in the remote area of Ballynultagh a number of years ago that an unsuccessful search took place for the remains of Mr McIlhone.
Experts using sophisticated search techniques have been working in Co Wicklow in recent weeks.
The search is being carried out with the authority of the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains, the organisation that liaises with families of the so-called Disappeared.
The Commission tries to locate the remains of those who were killed by the IRA and secretly buried.
Only last week a group of the bereaved families were in Stormont, pressing for the searches to continue.
In a statement last night Mr McIlhone's family members said they hoped and prayed for good news.
They also appealed for privacy.
It is understood that the search team has been working on information passed on by the IRA.
