A total of 220 jobs are to be created in counties Wicklow and Donegal.

Medical device manufacturer Nypro Ireland is creating 150 positions at its plant in Bray over the next four years.

The firm, which manufactures devices for healthcare companies at its facilities, will produce a needle-free drug delivery device for a US pharmaceutical company for late 2008.

In Co Donegal, 70 jobs are to be created in the Údarás na Gaeltachta business park in Gaoth Dobhair.

RAP, which designs and manufactures environmentally responsible packaging, is investing €3.3m in its Gaeltacht plant and will increase employment in the operation from 54 to 124 over the next three years.

The company says that the investment will facilitate a major expansion of its operations including the launch of three new patented product lines aimed at the European food-on-the-move market.

Chief Executive of Údarás na Gaeltachta Pádraig O hAoláin said the investment by RAP was very welcome news at a time of difficult national and global economic conditions.

Mr O hAoláin said it brings to 126 the number of new jobs announced in four companies in the Gaoth Dobhair business park in the past week.

Last Monday, SpinVox announced an expansion in its operation, which will see 41 jobs created in Gaoth Dobhair, Sioen Ireland is to recruit a further 12 employees, while Tithe an Earagail Teo has increased its workforce by three.
