Almost 3,500 musicians, singers and dancers gather in Tullamore this evening in an attempt to set a record for the largest number of people playing traditional Irish music for 60 minutes.
The first 'World's Largest Traditional Irish Music Session World Record Attempt' was unveiled as part of last year's Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Co Offaly.
The event will be preceded by the opening parade, which will assemble at Lloyd Town Park at 7.30pm and travel through the streets of Tullamore until it reaches O'Connor Square.
The session will take place from 8pm to 10pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend and to bring a traditional instrument, their singing voice or their dancing shoes to take part in the event.
