A man killed in a road accident near Newcastle West in Limerick has been named.

36-year-old Kevin Doherty of Charlestown died following a two-car collision at Ballintubbrid at 11.35pm of 6 August.

The crash happened on the main Newcastle West to Abbeyfeale Road, the N21.

Mr Doherty, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
