Cyclist killed in Limerick collision

A cyclist in his 50s has been killed in a road crash in Co Limerick.

The collision happened on the Limerick bypass at Ballysimon on the northbound carriageway at about 1.40pm, when a truck collided with the bicycle.

The cyclist was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where he was pronounced dead.

Gardaí in Henry Street are appealing for motorists who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at 061 212 400 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.
