The annual Orange march from Drumcree Church in Co Armagh has passed off without incident.
The local Orange Lodge has again stated that it wants to get involved in face-to-face talks with residents of the mainly nationalist Garvaghy Road.
For the eleventh successive year, due to a ruling by the Parades Commission, the participants were not allowed to march along the mainly nationalist Garvaghy Road when returning from a service at Drumcree Church.
For several years the event sparked violent exchanges and required a huge security operation, but since 2004 the Drumcree event has passed off without a serious incident.
Recently representatives of the Portadown District Orange Lodge held discussions with the Sinn Féin president, Gerry Adams.
The Orange Order says it will continue its campaign to be allowed parade along what it says was its traditional route, including the Garvaghy Road.
Yesterday several thousand people attended the Orange March in Rossnowlagh, Co Donegal.
