A man and a woman in their late 30s have been rescued from a fire in an apartment in Ennis, Co Clare.
Both were taken to Ennis General Hospital where they are being treated for smoke inhalation and second degree burns.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 7.30pm this evening.
The scene of the blaze is being preserved for a technical examination.
