Fianna Fáil Councillor Eibhlin Byrne has been elected as the new Lord Mayor of Dublin City.
She received a total of 29 votes following a pact with the Labour group on Dublin City Council, defeating candidates from Fine Gael and Sinn Féin.
Ms Byrne said her first area of priority for her one-year term will be to establish clear goals for business achievement in the city.
Elsewhere, Labour Councillor Ted Howlin has been elected mayor of Wexford Borough Council.
Cllr Howlin has been a councillor since 1994 and is a brother of Labour TD Brendan.
He has been mayor of the council on two previous occasions and takes over from his party colleague George Lawlor.
Labour cllr Jack Walsh has been elected as Waterford City Council's new mayor.
